KIANA TALKS WHERE DID YOU GO
"It is so amazing that people have hope"

You made it to the top and received high praise from the jury-members in reality show Sweden's Got Talent and now you’re up against former winner Loreen in Sweden's Eurovision-try-outs. How does it feel to be one of the big favorites?
It honestly feels incredible! I never thought I’d be in that position, since no one really knows who I am! It is so amazing that people have hope and trust in my entry, without even having heard the song yet.
Are you aiming for first place?
I would not say I am aiming for anything specific, I will be happy with any placement! But of course it would be amazing to reach the semifinals, or even the finals, what I’m really hoping for the most though is that people will love my song as much as I do.
Got the pre-event butterflies yet?
The nerves haven’t hit me yet but of course they’ll be there on the day!
With people not having heard it, how would you describe 'Where Did You Go'?
This song is both beautiful, energetic and lofty! The lyrics are stunning and sad, but I’d say the sadness is actually amplified by the way the song is built. I hope that people can relate to the lyrics of the song because I think many have experienced a feeling similar to the one I’m singing about.
When did the idea of competing with the song first come up?
During the summer of 2022, I decided to start working towards applying for this competition. I worked on a lot of songs throughout that summer, but I never quite got “that” feeling with any of the songs I’d been part of creating , not until I recorded 'Where Did You Go'. We really finished the song pretty close to the application deadline and I managed to land a spot in the competition! We wrapped it up in August, and I got the news in October, and then everything had to be kept secret until the end of November.
Just two weeks before competing, you will also be up on stage playing Dorothy in 'The Wizard of Oz'. Sounds like a busy time time for you?
I have actually managed to fit it all together quite well! Everything has landed in perfect timing, and I’m very grateful to have such understanding teachers as I'm also in school.
Yes you are the youngest contestant in this years competition. I heard that you will turn sixteen on the very day you perform. But you have been at this longer than many others who are competing?
I have been dancing and singing my whole life. My mom is a dancer herself, so I’ve been inspired by her, ever since I was a baby. Singing has also always been a part of me. And it has never been something I “decided” to do, it’s just always been there.
What kind of dancing can we expect on stage?
Well, without giving too much about it away, you can expect an awesome choreography, together with my amazing dancers.
No matter how this turns out, this is just the start for you. As Edward Af Sillén said about you, while on Sweden's Got Talent, “Your voice will take you places we can’t even dream of”. What places are you dreaming of though?
My dream is simply to keep doing what I love which is exactly what I get to do now, I'm really looking forward to seeing how I grow and develop over the next few years.
