"I know my worth no one else can be me"

BRUKLIN TALKS DAYDREAMING

What is this new song about?

'Daydreaming' is all about confidence and owning who I am. It’s a bold track where I’m saying, “I know my worth, and no one else can be me.” The song captures that feeling of being unshakable in a situation where someone is with someone else, but deep down, you know they’re still drawn to you. It’s playful but powerful, with a vibe that’s all about being unapologetic and in control. When I was writing it, I wanted to put out a fun, fearless energy, something that’s confident but still has a little bit of mischief. Lines like, “She can try but she can’t be me,” really show that sense of being irreplaceable. It’s like I’m saying, “You might be with someone else, but I know you’re wishing it was me.” The energy behind the song is fierce but also lighthearted. It’s about knowing who you are and being totally sure that you stand out in any situation. The idea came from that “daydream” of being desired, and I wanted to channel that into a track that feels both empowering and fun at the same time.

It feels like you have taken on the pop-scene with such natural force and confidence that it’s almost like you have always been around, but this is all still rather new. Has it been a bit dreamlike to have much such a big impact in this short time?

Honestly, it has felt pretty surreal. It’s been such a whirlwind! I’ve always dreamed about this, but seeing people connect with my music so quickly has been incredible. Even though everything seems to be moving fast, it’s really the result of years of passion, preparation, and hard work. It definitely feels dreamlike, but at the same time, it’s a reminder that when you stay true to yourself and what you want to express, things just start falling into place.

When did you first start daydreaming about living your life as a pop-star?

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I was always the loud kid, singing in every room I walked into! But I think the daydream of becoming a pop star really started when I was around twelve, after my first studio session recording Billie Eilish’s 'No Time to Die'. That’s when it all clicked for me, I knew in that moment this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Your music so far has had an interesting blend of thoughtful and emotional exploration lyrically yet melodically being a lot on the lighthearted, joyful and empowering side. What is it that you hope others will be able to find in the music you do?

I hope that when people listen to my music, they feel both empowered and understood. I write about what I’m going through, finding my voice, navigating relationships, learning to set boundaries, and I want my songs to be something people can relate to, something that makes them feel like they’re not alone. At the same time, I want them to feel strong and confident, like they can face whatever comes their way. My music is about connection, but also about giving people an escape and a boost of energy.

This is your fourth single in as many months. Have you been spending a lot of time in the studio to be able to drop hits at this pace?

I’ve definitely been in the studio a lot and I’m in a creative flow right now. I want to keep the momentum going, so yes, you can definitely expect more music soon! These singles are just the beginning, I’ve been working on something much bigger. And it is all about pushing my sound and exploring new ideas as an artist. I’m excited for everyone to hear what’s next!

With your role in the upcoming film 'My Mother Is a Cosmonaut', it seems you have a larger passion for entertainment with a talent that reaches across different storytelling mediums?

In 'My Mother Is a Cosmonaut', I play a supporting role that dives into some deep family dynamics while also touching on space exploration, which is such a cool mix. Working alongside actors like William Baldwin was an amazing experience. It really pushed me to explore new emotions and step out of my comfort zone. Acting is like music for me, it’s another way of telling a story. This role allowed me to learn from so many talented people, and it was both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

First things first, how are you planning to celebrate the release of your fourth single?

I’m honestly always focused on the next project, but I’m learning to take a moment and celebrate the milestones. It’s so easy to get caught up in what’s next, but I’m making an effort to pause and really appreciate how far I’ve come. For this new release, I’ll be spending time with my close friends and family. They’ve been with me every step of the way, and celebrating with them means the world to me. Those moments with my support system remind me why I do this, and it makes the journey that much sweeter.
