After your breakthrough in the Disney Plus-original 'The Invisible Girl' just earlier this year it would seem you went from one crime scene to another with this role in 'Nato 0'?

Yes, I am passionate about this genre. It takes me back to the novels of Agatha Christie, of which Blue Jeans is a great follower, whose story gives life to the series 'The Invisible Girl'. Taking uncertainty, suspense, music and performances as faithful protagonists and great attractions for the spectator, whether in the small streets of an Andalusian village in Spain, or in the Big Apple of New York, as presented in 'Nato 0', Gonzalo Crespo's debut film. Unfortunately, a true reflection of the reality we live in today.

How did you see Kip's role in this film?

On an interpretative level, Kip's character made it quite easy for me. Both being similar in age and doing such an everyday activity as watching a movie with friends, makes me feel I couldn't have felt more comfortable playing her on the big screen. Therefore Kip presented an interesting backstory, such as the innocence of a teenage girl in the face of a twisted and cruel world.

As the first feature film by director Gonzalo Crespo to be shot in English, ‘Nato 0. El origen del mal’ is a Andalusian film that looks to find an international audience. Be it in other areas of European film or other parts of the world, is acting in more international projects something that you would be interested in?

Oh Daniel, I love that you ask me this question. Since I was very young I have been interested in languages and learning about the different cultures of countries around the world. Nowadays I study several of them, such as English, French and soon I will be studying Italian and Arabic. And personally I don't think there is anything else, next to acting and the arts, that enriches and fulfills me more. I sincerely look forward to giving voice and image to a foreign character and to the challenge of filming in another language.

You were merely ten when you debuted with your role in the television series ‘Ministry of Time’. Have you always been drawn toward creative expressions?

Very good question! I have always developed an exquisite taste for classical music and its instruments, I play the piano. I love blues, jazz, dance, singing, theater and acting. Living other lives or playing with my emotions seemed so interesting and fun, yet unexplored and strange at my young age, that it wasn't until I faced a real shoot that I really felt I loved my profession and filmmaking. The first action! The welcoming and learning from my colleagues and the functioning of each department, made me understand what it was really like to be an actress and the great team that surrounds you. Being equally important each and every one of its members. I feel very fortunate, I learned to interpret by playing.

So do you think you will be acting for the rest of your life?

Honestly, I don't know what the future holds. What I do know for sure, is that I will prepare and train myself to be able to live as long as I can in this profession that I really love. Like me, young people today have to fight and pursue our dreams to the end. As the philosopher and playwright Seneca said, "Luck is where preparation and opportunity converge".

Do you feel it can be hard to take control over your own career and not just be at the mercy of circumstance?

Well Daniel, in my opinion there is no such thing as a small role, it is the actors who should not put limits on themselves and make the characters bigger. However, nowadays the film industry is the one who offers auditions to actors and we, as such, must respond with the best training and above all a good attitude. As a consequence, it is really difficult to control the profession of an actor, since it is based on uncertainty.

What career do you hope to look back on when you are ninety or so years old?

My goal is to enjoy what my profession offers me, while at the same time also being able to enrich myself personally and enjoy a career with a wide range of characters. I would like to delve into drama, comedy, thrillers, musicals, fantasy and science fiction, in my mother tongue or in any other language since studying translation and interpretation of language is also one of my greatest dreams. By the way Daniel, I hope we will meet again before we turn ninety! (laughs)
