MICHELLE SARA TALKS FALLING
"It represents freedom in vulnerability"

At its very core, what is 'Falling' about?
At its very core, 'Falling' is about letting go, of fear, of control, of the need to have everything figured out. It’s about that quiet moment of surrender when you choose to trust love, life, and yourself, even when it feels uncertain. For me, it represents freedom in vulnerability, the beauty of allowing yourself to feel deeply and live fully in the present.
From its first draft to first sessions, recording, and tweaks, what did the behind the scenes process look like for the song through all stages?
The song began from a very intuitive place, driven purely by emotion. The writing and recording happened quite naturally in the same session, without overthinking the process. From there, it was about refining, revisiting vocals, production details, and small nuances, while making sure the original feeling was never lost. Every tweak was made to protect the honesty and warmth at the heart of the song.
You sing “I am also my mother’s daughter”, giving a nod to someone who seems to have been very influential for you. Has your mother been a significant source of support throughout it all?
My mom has been my biggest supporter in everything I have ever done, and especially in my music. She’s always been by my side, encouraging me to follow this path and believing in me, even when things has felt uncertain. That lyric is my way of acknowledging her presence and the role she’s played in shaping who I am.
What has your experience been like allowing yourself to “fall backwards”, as an artist. It’s natural for an artist to crave control, how has it been for you to not let that control get in the way of being present, trusting the process, and to enjoy things on the go?
It has not been easy, and, to be honest, it’s still a struggle sometimes, because not only as an artist, but also just as a human being, you naturally want to have some sense of control. Wanting certainty is part of the journey. Learning to “fall” backwards has meant trusting myself and the process more. And allowing things to unfold without overthinking every step. When I let go of that need for control, I become more present, both in my music and in life, and I actually enjoy the journey much more. Those moments of trust and openness are where the most honest songs and experiences come from.
How long have music and song–writing been with you?
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started singing when I was six, and even before songwriting, I was always writing little poems. I began writing songs more seriously around four years ago. But I realised music was more than just a hobby when I was about thirteen. That is when I knew I wanted to become an artist, and that this was the path I wanted to fully commit to.
“Playing Miley for some vibes”, what other artists might have helped in shaping your vibe artistically and the kinda music that you love?
I think what I am today musically is really the sum of everything I have listened to while growing up. From icons like Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Jessie J, and Adele to more recent artists like Olivia Dean and Ray, each of them has shaped the way I approach vocals, emotion, and storytelling in my music. They’ve all contributed to the vibe I aim for, heartfelt, honest, and deeply personal.
Many things seem to have been set in motion for you this year. What would you say are some of the dreamiest moments to look back on?
This year has been really special. Releasing three singles in Romanian has been such a dream, and seeing my music come to life exactly how I imagined it feels amazing. From recording in the studio to working on visuals and sharing my songs with people who really connect with them, all of it has felt surreal. Moments like these are what make everything so worth it.
Where do you see yourself heading in the coming year, do you have more songs lined up?
Closing in on 2026, I’m really excited for what’s next. The next single is set to release in January, and I have more songs lined up that I can not wait to share, each one feels like a new chapter with its own story and vibe. I am also looking forward to live shows and visuals that will bring the music to life in a bigger way. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s listened and supported me so far. It really means the world. It’s going to be a year of growth, creativity, and connecting even more with the people who listen to my music.
